Western Australia Vs Victoria |
There are many legends in cricket history which surprises us by their sky-high records and achievements and today we are going to talk about one of those, which is still considered as one of the most miraculous events in world cricket history.
According to The Pall Mall Gazette newspaper, in it's sports section, it was claimed that an unbelievable event had done in the Australians match at Burbury.
It was the clock of late 19th century, in a domestic match which was played among Western Australia and Victoria, an almost unbreakable world record was made. Let's find what was it!
In that battle, Victoria was one to bat first, the very first ball connected well and flew away in the air toward a tree which was situated inside the cricket ground. But wait, here they saw the ball suddenly disappeared from the sky. Soon, all the players realised that the ball was stuck in the branches of that jarrah tree. The Victorian openers started to run between the wickets, the problem here was that it might be impossible for anyone to climb and take ball down.
After feeling unable to do this task, the fielding team appealed to the umpires to declare "lost ball",
but the ultimate twist here was that the umpires denied to their appeal as the ball was clearly visible in front of them on the tree and was legitimately in air.
Western Australia became worried by umpires' this decision and finally decided to arrange an axe to cut down the tree, this was obvious as there was no other option for them. During the long conversation among the fielders, the Victorian openers kept running tirelessly and had already taken so much runs.
helpless. But as everyone say, the hope should be endless and that hope worked for the fielding side as a person was able to manage a "rifle".
They intended to shoot the ball and bring it down and finally after so much attempts, the bullet hit the ball and it fallen on the field meanwhile anyone wasn't aware of catching it as it could sent the player to dugout at a duck.
